A great way to get ready for a trip is to read about the people, places and passions of a particular land. Authors from various locals help prepare one’s eyes, ears and heart to discover the treasures and tragedies of another time. Below are links to reading lists for various countries where I have traveled. Often when I visit a country I bring along a book by an author and read it along the way. When in India I read Gandhi; in Ghana I read Nkrumah; aboard the Trans-Siberian Express - Solzhenitsyn; in Paris -  Hemingway!
